CanMNT and Juventus forward, Jonathan David, has been named the 2024-2025 Concacaf Men's Player of the Year, Concacaf announced on Thursday.

After an excellent club campaign with Lille OSC, in which David scored 25 goals and added 12 assists (including nine goals and four assists in the UEFA Champions League), as well as his excellent play for Canada, with whom he scored eight goals and four assists in 13 matches between September 2024 and June 2025 (including four goals and three assists in eight official Concacaf matches), this is a well-deserved honour for David.A4d2a180 4598 D92a 99bd 39d458a381f0

Despite facing competition from Edson Alvárez (Mexico, Fenerbahçe), Raúl Jiménez (Mexico, Fulham), Ángel Sepúlveda (Mexico, Cruz Azul), Malik Tillman (USA, Bayer Leverkusen) and Manfred Ugalde (Costa Rica, Spartak Moscow), David was voted as the winner, as his individual success was enough to overcome Canada's lack of team success relative to Mexico, who won both the 2024-2025 Concacaf Nations League and 2025 Gold Cup.

David becomes just the second Canadian to earn this award, as Alphonso Davies claimed the honour in both 2021 and 2022.

The criteria for this award include performances for both club and country, and is voted on by Concacaf players, coaches, media and fans.
